Sky 3D TV finnally will launches next week

Sky have announced that their brand new 3D channel will launch will indeed launch in 2010, in fact it’s not far way and will officially launch on 3rd April 2010 and it will be the first 3D channel in Europe. The first programme shown on the channel will be another 3D football game which will again be Manchester United but this time they will be facing Chelsea which will be a great game to The match will mark the launch of the broadcaster’s 3D TV channel.

Sky says the match will be viewable in over 1,000 pubs and clubs around the UK with more expected to be added throughout the year. A further five matches are expected to follow before the end of the current season as are the Coca-Cola Football League play-off finals at Wembley towards the end of May.

Sky has already staged some trial broadcasts in a few pubs scattered around the country using LG TVs and passive lens 3D glasses. Hopefully with the announcement of Virgin offering free HD channels, Sky might eventually drop their £10 a month charge for HD like they did with Sky+ recording, and make HD more widely available to more people who can’t afford the current costs, myself included.
